Certified Financial Planner

I'm Melissa Powell Street, a dedicated Certified Financial Planner TM (CFP®) with a passion for helping clients make a plan for achieving their financial goals. My goal as a financial advisor is to help clients understand their financial decisions and how those decisions impact the future so that they can make the best choices for their situation.

My career in the financial industry began in 2011 after graduating from the University of Tennessee, when I joined my uncle, Frank Powell, at the family business where my grandfather had also worked, Powell & Associates Investment Group. I immediately began studying for and passed the Series 7, Series 63, and Series 66 qualifications and got my Tennessee life insurance license in 2012. After that I began delving into client relationships, designing financial plans, and learning the ins and outs of the market from research and from Frank's experience. I furthered my professional credentials by obtaining my Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) certification in 2016.

I am committed to helping my clients achieve their financial goals while navigating the complexities of of life and the complexities of the market. I understand that financial planning and investing is not just about money but about enabling individuals and families to pursue their goals and dreams.

I was born in Flintstone, Georgia, and grew up on Signal Mountain, and I love this community. Alongside my husband, Geoffrey, I find great joy in raising my three young children, Eliza, Annie, and Walter. I cherish time with my family, whether it's family trips or playing by the creek in our back yard. I am a member of Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church and The Generosity Trust Young Givers Circle.

I walk along side my clients through some of life's biggest transitions, whether it's changing jobs, getting married, having children, becoming a stay at home parent, starting a new career, losing a loved one, or retiring, and it is truly an honor to be there through it all.
